New Zealand Pacific Scholarships

As a country that recognizes strong ties in terms of economic, cultural, and personal engagements, the New Zealand is giving away scholarships through the New Zealand Pacific Scholarships for students coming from Pacific countries. With the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the processing and awarding of this Pacific scholarship is excellently facilitated.

With their aim to build a larger community of Pacific youths who are studying in New Zealand, this scholarship is built and will serve as a development program and provide an international aid from the government of New Zealand. Also, this project is established to create another generation of Pacific youth that possesses exceptional leadership skills while maintaining their strong bond to New Zealand.

This scholarship is offered to both postgraduate and undergraduate college scholarships available in New Zealand. Also, the countries that are qualified to apply are the following:

  • Federated States of Micronesia
  • Kiribati
  • Fiji
  • Nauru
  • Niue
  • Marshall Islands
  • Palau
  • Samoa
  • Papua New Guinea
  • Solomon Islands
  • Tonga
  • Vanuatu
  • Tuvalu

Also, the New Zealand Pacific Scholarships are available for an undergraduate degree, postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, master’s degree, and a PhD. All of these have varying timeframe.

To apply for thiscollege scholarship, there are two ways available for the applicants: online application or the paper application.

For the online scholarship applications, the applicant must follow the process listed below and submit the necessary documents.

  • Second step: Build a log in for Real Me
  • Third step: Register or create an account in New Zealand Scholarships Online
  • Fourth step: Finish your application

The applicants can start their application process using this link. Also, for applicants who are unable to get an access online, the paper scholarship application is also available. Follow the steps below to complete a paper application:

  • First step: Eligibility confirmation
  • Second step: Get an application form
  • Third step: Accomplish the application form
  • Fourth step: Submit your application. Either to the high commission, the local embassy, or directly to the MFAT

However, before starting the application, the applicants are required to accomplish all the steps required in the Getting Started Section and read thoroughly the Application Guidance. This is vital as the scholarship provider stated that there are a lot of details to fill out before truly applying for the scholarship.

Aside from that, the applicants are reminded to understand carefully the things that are instructed on the guidance for application and the getting started section. The scholarship provider noted that there are many applicants who still fail to apprehend the requirements that they need, thus providing an application of low quality.

The application deadline for 2018 is depends on where your country is grouped. All of the applications will close at exactly 11:59 pm on the dates mentioned below (New Zealand time).

  • For Cambodia, Indonesia, Nauru, Niue, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, and Vanuatu: February 1, 2018 to March 15, 2018(online application only).
  • For Africa, Bhutan, Fiji, Nepal, Philippines, Malaysia, Micronesia (Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Palau), Mongolia, Jordan, Latin America,Thailand, Caribbean, and Vietnam: February 16, 2018 to March 30, 2018 (online application only).
