$5,000 MALDEF Law Scholarship Program

MALDEF Law Scholarship Program is offered by MALDEF Foundation. This foundation was recognized as the nation’s leading Latino legal and civil rights organization. They promote social change through community education, employment, immigrant rights, advocacy, litigation in areas of communication, political access, and communications.

MALDEF’s 2017-2018 Law School scholarship is open to students who are currently enrolled at an accredited United States law school AY 2016-2017. This scholarship program helps provide college education online through a law schoolonline degree edification. This grant provides $5,000 education fund for 5 to 15 students this year. Applicant must be in need of financial aid and most significantly, established commitment in proceeding Latino civil rights in their vocations (record of provision to the Latino communal is asked as a proof of commitment).

If you are aiming for college education onlineprograms, specifically an onlinedegree for law school, this scholarship program is for you. Online education is not as good as offline courses, but this scholarship program will let you have the privilege of choosing your own law school as long as it is accredited. This also gives the advantage for the candidate to continue their education online on the school where they are currently enrolled.

To completely make the cut, the applicant must have a good academic record and accomplish the following things:

  • MALDEF Law Scholarship candidate form.
  • Financial statement form (accomplished by the Applicant’s law school).
  • Individual statement no less than 750 words, double-spaced, specifying the applicant’s personal background and financial necessity.
  • List of service to the Latino community (the applicant may add plans).
  • A letter of recommendation
  • Transcript of records from college and law school if the applicant has completed a year of law school.
    Note: Unendorsed transcripts are accepted.

Keep in mind that this scholarship is only offered for Latino/Latina students who wish to get an online degree in law. Other courses or related degrees are not covered by the fund, provided in this scholarship.

Since the foundation is offering a huge amount to cover for law school expenses, all of the submitted requirements must be submitted following the proper guideline. Not following guidelines will immediately result in disqualification of their application.

The scholarship is awarded annually so the deadline of submission of requirements is on January 17, 2018.
